Read ’til you drop: Books of 2014

2014 has passed, and next in line comes 2015. It’s a new year with new hopes and opportunities, but do you know what happened last year? So now, I am going to introduce you to the top five young adult fiction novels of 2014.

According to Goodreads, the number one popular novel of 2014 is City of Heavenly Fire by Cassandra Clare, book six of the series The Mortal Instruments. This book is the last book of the series, and is a dazzling and wonderful conclusion. In this book, Sebastian Morgenstern is turning Shadowhunter against Shadowhunter, who withdraws to Idris. This book includes betrayal, adventure, and danger. Read the book to find out more!

Next comes The One, book three of The Selection by Kiera Cass. An exciting, emotional, and dangerous plot brings the perfect end to the series. In the book, Prince Maxon is stuck choosing between the last two finalists, America and Kriss. However, rebels keeps on attacking, and this time it’s the Southern Rebels, who are more deadly and always kills someone when they attack. What happens in the end of the book, is for you to find out yourself.

In third place is Cress by Marissa Meyer, book three of the series The Lunar Chronicles. In Cress, Cinder, Captain Thorne, Scarlett, and Wolfe are fugitives on the run, trying to stop Queen Levana from marrying Emperor Kai. They find a girl named Cress, who has been living on a satellite since childhood, making her an excellent hacker. Depending on Cress to help them overthrow Queen Levana, they have an incredible journey and adventure.

Ignite Me by Tahereh Mafi, book three of Shatter Me, comes in fourth place. In the final book of the series, Juliette doesn’t know if any of her friends are still alive, and can only rely on Warner, commander of Section 45. However, she doesn’t know if she can trust him, though he saved her life and promised Juliette to help her master her powers and save the world. This story is suitable for people who enjoyed reading Divergent, Hunger Games, or Legend.

Finally, coming in fifth place is the last and final book of The Heroes of Olympus by Rick Riordan, The Blood of Olympus. In The Blood of Olympus, the crew of Roman and Greek demigods on the Argo II must try harder to stop Gaea’s minions, the giants from helping Gaea wake, thus needing the blood of two demigods; one boy and one girl. The Athena Parthenos will be carried to Camp Half-Blood to stop the war between them and Camp Jupiter, while Argo II will be heading for Gaea. Without the help of the gods (who are suffering from multiple personality disorder), the Athena Parthenos, how can a team of seven demigods stop Gaea?

2014 had many wonderful books, and these are just five of them. Look forward to books in 2015, which will be just as interesting and fun as these!
